They announce at the start of the show that Big Show will be putting his title up against... RIC FLAIR?! WHAT?! SERIOUSLY? I mean, I am kind of okay with this. This is the "extreme rules match" of the evening as well, which I think is a nice clarification that not every single match is an extreme rules match, which is disappointing. Lot of the first half of the show is dedicated to Paul Heyman explaining why he turned on Rob Van Dam.
Match #1: Tommy Dreamer vs. Test
Tommy Dreamer is in dress shoes and a dress shirt because he didn't know this match was coming. He just so happens to face Test, who is a son-of-a-bitch who likes kicking defenseless heads. He's got this weird eye tattoo that just looks strange, like he's a Terminator who is showing some of his metallic skull. In this match they made clear that this was NOT the extreme rules match of the evening. Thank you, Taz. The match is back and forth... kinda. Test eventually overwhelms Dreamer because he is built like a tank. Just when Dreamer started making a comeback, Test sneaks by with a pin. All in all, the match was bland. Nice to see Tommy Dreamer on television though.
Winner: Test
Match Rating: Average

Match #2: The Sandman vs. Mike Knox
Once again a Sandman segment that is not a match, but this time he finally gets involved in something meaningful. Kelly Kelly and Candice Michelle are doing a couple's routine for the Expose in this episode, and Mike Knox once again comes on and tries to stop things. The Sandman has HAD ENOUGH. He comes out and destroys Mike Knox with his trusty kendo stick, before chugging some beer and looking like a lunatic into the camera. This is perfect, in my opinion. The Sandman is a man's man. He loves women too, obviously, and he's tired of Mike Knox being such a hardo. He just wants to see some tits. The Sandman is the people's champion. All in all, big fan of this segment.
Winner: No contest, but in reality The Sandman
Match Rating: Satisfying
Weapons Used: Kendo Stick (1)

Match #3: Sabu vs. Justin Credible
Sabu starts his entrance by chucking a chair at the ring. Nice. The ref takes it away and Sabu goes fucking berserk because it's his fucking chair! Sabu starts the match by doing this thing where he jumps at Credible's ankles and misses, and then JC hits a leg drop. What? This man fought John Cena? One thing Sabu does have going for him, though, are his shining gold pants. At one point Sabu takes out a table and sets it up. This is NOT an extreme rules match, folks. He puts Credible through it anyway! Yes! You are now the people's champion, Sabu. You snatched it from Sandman just like that. The ref actually calls the DQ though and so Justin Credible technically gets a win. That's stupid. Sabu considers stabbing the ref with an ice pick of some sort? I don't know what that was. Then he just struts out.
Winner: Justin Credible (by DQ)
Match Rating: Stupid
Weapons Used: Table (1)
We get a Balls Mahoney promo. He says he understands people may laugh at his name but he likes it. Alrighty.
We also get a Shannon Moore promo! I can't wait to see some of these guys in the ring. Kevin Thorn, Shannon Moore, CM Punk, and more to come.

Match #4: ECW Championship Match: The Big Show (C) vs. Ric Flair
What a treat to see Flair in an ECW ring. I totally forgot this match happened, and I'm glad I did. It made this match much more enjoyable. Good lord, this match was brutal. Flair gets busted open early and boy does that blood spread around. Big Show absolutely demolishes the old man for a good ten minutes with several slams, punches, and direct headbutts to the skull. Ric Flair is an immortal wrestling God and we are fortunate to have him. Flair finally turns the tables when he lands a series of low blows on Big Show. Extreme rules, remember, so it's all legal! Flair gives around six low blows before grabbing the BARBWIRE BASEBALL BAT. He gouges Show's skull with it and now Big Show is bleeding. Blood starts to flow from Show's head and it is a bit disturbing, but mostly awesome. Flair also uses a garbage can, two chairs, and thumbtacks! Show goes straight back into a pile of them. I'm guessing he didn't even feel them given his size and mass, but still, props to the guy. The match was brutal on both wrestlers' bodies. Big Show eventually wins by choking out Flair, who needs to be helped to the back. I need to give credit to Ric Flair. The man is a legend in every sense of the word, and didn't need to do what he did. He got busted open early and he sold every punch and headbutt from Big Show like death. It adds some pedigree to the show when a man like Flair will come on and go all out.
Winner: The Big Show
Match Rating: Brutal
Weapons Used: Barbwire Baseball Bat (1), Garbage Can (1), Chair (2), Bag of Thumbtacks (1)

Another solid episode is in the books. The main events of the first five shows have definitely done their part in selling the product as a place where good, violent wrestling can occur. I think it can still do without a lot of the segments they have going, like Mike Knox and his girlfriend, and the constant squash matches. But it is definitely getting there.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed. Make sure that you go and watch these episodes after reading so you can experience them yourselves. For the time being, they're a treat, and while I might regret this once I get to Episode 100, I definitely don't right now.
